Care

For general cleaning, simply wipe the surface with a damp, soapy cloth, followed by a fresh water rinse and immediate hand-drying with a soft towel. Because this is a "living finish," you must decide whether to let it naturally oxidize into a dark, matte patina or to periodically restore its original glow using a polish; regardless of your aesthetic preference, applying a thin layer of wax twice a year will help the hardware shed water and maintain a more even appearance over time.

How long does it take for the patina to develop?
The aging process begins almost immediately upon exposure to air and water. You will notice the first subtle changes within 1–2 weeks, with a rich, deep antique tone typically established within 3–6 months depending on local humidity and frequency of use.
Can I restore the original shiny gold look?
Yes. If you prefer the bright, polished look over the aged patina, you can use a high-quality brass cleaner (such as Wright’s Brass Cream or Brasso) to remove the oxidation. Polishing will return the faucet to its original luster, and the aging process will begin again.
